CNG Mother Facility Commissioned in ORON, Akwa Ibom State
In line with the aim to increase utilization of indigeneous Natural Gas resource and expansion of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) infrastructure in Nigeria, NIPCO Gas is ecstatic to announce commissioning of CNG Mother facility at Oron, Akwa Ibom state. This facility shall support the CNG supplies to the Daughter/Daughter Booster CNG Stations in the South-South parts of the country. The facility will also benefit the industrial landscape by providing CNG for industrial usage also.
The CNG Mother facility is another state-of-the-art infrastructure, established by NIPCO to support the deepening of Natural Gas utilization in Nigeria. The facility will fulfil the requirement of Auto-CNG in the region and further support the distribution of CNG to the Industries in the area. The daughter/daughter booster stations in the South-South region will be catered by this facility, enabling access of Auto-CNG to the vehicles including kekes, cars, busses, truck-head.
With the recent surge in PMS price, an increase in the number of CNG-powered vehicles is witnessed. As a result, usage of CNG-powered Natural Gas Vehicles (NGVs) is increasing and more people are inclined to get their vehicles converted to accommodate Auto-CNG fuel. NIPCO Gas is supporting this transition through the conversion workshops located in different regions. The workshops are located at the CNG filling stations in Ibafo, Abuja and Benin, wherein PMS vehicles are being converted.
CNG as an automotive fuel is not only cost-effective when compared to alternative fuels but also helps to significantly reduce exhaust gas emissions, thus benefitting the both the end-user as well as the environment. The lower emissions, clean combustion and economical advantages makes CNG a cleaner, greener & cost-effective fuel for the automobiles.
