NIPCO Gas entered into a partnership with NNPC Gas Marketing Limited (NGML) in June 2022 for the supply and distribution of natural gas in the Lekki Gas Distribution Area. Following this, the NGML-NIPCO Gas JV signed a Gas Infrastructure and Development Agreement with the Lekki Free Zone Development Company (LFZDC) in November 2022 to provide natural gas supplies to industries and the power plant in the area.

In a landmark event for Nigeria’s energy sector, NNPC in partnership with NIPCO Gas Limited commissioned first-ever Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations in Abuja and Lagos.

Receiving the award in Lagos on Friday at Energy Times’ maiden award night, NIPCO Gas Limited Managing Director, Nagendra Verma, noted that the accolade of Most Innovative Gas Company of the Year aptly acknowledges our endeavours in the gas sector, marked by the launch of our inaugural Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)station in Benin City, Edo State, in 2009.

NIPCO Gas Ltd is involved in Mobility CNG development and expansion since 2009. Initially started with Benin City and expanded the Mobility CNG network to Ibafo in Ogun State and later-on in Kogi State.

In a significant stride towards providing economical, sustainable and environmentally friendly fuel for transportation, NIPCO Gas Limited has once again underscored its unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship.

Soon after commissioing of CNG station in Ibadan, NIPCO Gas has taken yet another progressive step towards development of CNG infrastrucutre in Oyo State.
