NIPCO Gas Commences CNG Conversion Workshop in Ibadan, Oyo State
Soon after the commissioning of CNG station in Ibadan, NIPCO Gas has taken yet another progressive step towards the development of CNG infrastructure in Oyo State.
NIPCO gas has commenced CNG Conversion Workshop at the Ibadan CNG Station, for the conversion of PMS vehicles to CNG-fueled vehicles. This is the first CNG conversion facility in Oyo state and will help the masses in the conversion of their PMS vehicle to CNG and save money.
The move aligns with NIPCO’s expansion plans to deepen the utilization of indigenously available Natural Gas in Nigeria. NIPCO Gas is the sole player in the Auto-CNG segment and has a wide network of CNG filling stations and CNG Conversion Workshops across Nigeria.
These CNG conversion workshops are located in Ibafo, Benin, and Abuja. With the commencement new CNG conversion workshop in Ibadan, NIPCO Gas has extended the reach of the conversion facility to the people in the region, who will benefit largely by converting PMS vehicles to CNG and thus using cost-effective Auto-CNG fuel for their vehicles.
The CNG conversion enables PMS vehicles to use CNG as an automotive fuel which is significantly cost-effective as compared to the alternative fuels.
Conversion to CNG involves the installation of CNG kit along with CNG cylinder for onboard storage of fuel and other related components. With this installation, a PMS vehicle attains dual-fuel capabilities, meaning the vehicle can run either with CNG or PMS as a fuel, depending on the availability.
This CNG conversion workshop in Ibadan is located at NIPCO Gas CNG Station, near Toll Gate on the Lagos – Ibadan Expressway.
The facility is well equipped to cater to all kinds of PMS vehicles such as, Kekes, Saloon Cars, Pick-Ups Trucks, Coaster Buses, etc, with multiple cylinder configuartions including 4, 6, and 8 cylinder vehicles.
With the recent surge in PMS prices, more and more people are converting their vehicle to CNG. The largest beneficiaries of this transition are Bolt, Uber, Keke and other taxi drivers, who largely benefit from low fuel cost of CNG.
Reduced maintenance cost while using CNG fuel, further helps in subtantial savings when compared with alternative fuels. NIPCO gas is supporting this transition by creating CNG related infrastructure thus increasing the accessibility to the low cost fuel as well as providing the convenience of a CNG conversion facility.
