NIPCO Gas Ltd Takes Giant Leap in Improving Access to Gas Nationwide. The Federal Government has awarded a Gas Distribution License to NIPCO Gas Ltd, a significant milestone in the company's efforts to improve access to gas across the country. The license was awarded in Abuja, alongside other firms in the sector, including NNPC Gas Marketing Limited, Shell Nigeria Gas Ltd, AXXELA and Falcon Corporation Limited.

NIPCO Gas Limited has set a new benchmark in Nigeria's transportation sector by commissioning the nation's first Mobile Refueling Unit (MRU) dedicated to dispensing Compressed Natural Gas (CNG). Strategically located at Kubwa, Abuja, this novel initiative underscores NIPCO Gas's commitment to providing economical, sustainable, and environmentally friendly fuel solutions.

NIPCO Gas Ltd Statement on Cylinder Explosion during CNG filling in Eyean, Benin City. The management of NIPCO Gas Ltd wishes to inform the general public of an incident that occurred at approximately 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2024, at our Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) station located in Eyean, Benin City, Edo State.

NIPCO Gas entered into a partnership with NNPC Gas Marketing Limited (NGML) in June 2022 for the supply and distribution of natural gas in the Lekki Gas Distribution Area. Following this, the NGML-NIPCO Gas JV signed a Gas Infrastructure and Development Agreement with the Lekki Free Zone Development Company (LFZDC) in November 2022 to provide natural gas supplies to industries and the power plant in the area.

In a landmark event for Nigeria’s energy sector, NNPC in partnership with NIPCO Gas Limited commissioned first-ever Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations in Abuja and Lagos.

Receiving the award in Lagos on Friday at Energy Times’ maiden award night, NIPCO Gas Limited Managing Director, Nagendra Verma, noted that the accolade of Most Innovative Gas Company of the Year aptly acknowledges our endeavours in the gas sector, marked by the launch of our inaugural Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)station in Benin City, Edo State, in 2009.

NIPCO Gas Ltd is involved in AutoCNG development and expansion since 2009. Initially started with Benin City and expanded the AutoCNG network to Ibafo in Ogun State and later-on in Kogi State.

In a significant stride towards providing economical, sustainable and environmentally friendly fuel for transportation, NIPCO Gas Limited has once again underscored its unwavering commitment to environmental stewardship.

Soon after commissioing of CNG station in Ibadan, NIPCO Gas has taken yet another progressive step towards development of CNG infrastrucutre in Oyo State.
